September reset was about cozy living spaces. October reset is about the rooms that impact your sleep, self-care, and sanity: the bathroom, bedroom, and closet. These are the spaces that can quickly spiral into chaos if we ignore them, but they’re also the ones that make the biggest difference when they’re clean and reset.
This month we’ll break it down into daily rhythms, weekly habits, and three deep-clean focuses per week. By the end of October, your bathroom will shine, your bedroom will feel restful, and your closet won’t be a black hole.
Daily Habits
Keep it quick and simple. These are important to cut down on the time needed to do weekly cleans.
- Make bed & tidy bedroom
- Wipe kitchen counters/sink
- Wash dishes
- Quickly sweep kitchen
- Wipe bathroom sink & counter
- Tidy living areas
- Trash check (kitchen + bathroom)
- Tidy entryway
You should have a few non-negotiables, that even on the days you’re low on time and/or energy, you still at least try to complete those every single day. For me, that is my kitchen counters and sink, dishes, quick tidying (like 5-10 minutes) and trash (I usually make my son do that ha).
Weekly Reset
- Quickly dust all surfaces
- Wipe TVs, monitors & glass
- Clean toilet, shower, sink, counter, mirror
- Clean kitchen counters & sink
- Clean stovetop & fronts of appliances
- Wipe out microwave
- Tidy entryway/sweep porches
- Change sheets & pillowcases
- Toss leftovers from fridge/wipe spills
- Sort mail & paper
- Take out trash/recycling
- Sweep/mop/vacuum high-traffic areas
Again, you can pick a few that you must absolutely get done weekly so things don’t get out of control. These will make deep cleaning easier. And if you don’t get to the deep cleaning this one week, or one month even, at least you’re maintaining the clutter and dirt.

Week 1
- Wash decorative pillowcases & throws
- Rotate & vacuum mattress
- Wash pillows, blankets, & mattress pad
Week 2
- Dust vents, fixtures, ceiling fans
- Wash curtains & blinds
- Clean windows & sills
Week 3
- Dust hard-to-reach places
- Declutter & wipe cabinets/drawers
- Wipe doors, baseboards, & walls
Week 4
- Declutter & donate unused items
- Wipe light switches & plates
- Wash shower curtain
Week 5
- Sweep/mop under & behind furniture
- Toss expired toiletries/meds
- Clean bathroom trash bins
